In order to develop a career, one often must travel far and wide to develop the proper education and skills. In the case of Dr. Gail Weingast, she founded and developed her career while she worked at Colorado General Hospital for many years, serving in multiple positions in several different departments. This gave her a wide overview of the medical field and broad education into many different specialty options.
She began her studies in the field of pediatrics from 1976-1977. This allowed her to look deeply into one particular specialty before deciding on her own career path. Then she performed her residency in Pediatrics at the same hospital over the next two years. She then did a residency in the Radiology department from 1980 to 1983 and found she was hungry for more knowledge and directly followed it by a fellowship in the field of Ultrasound in 1983.
It was after that that she decided to make a transition and fully dedicate her career to radiology and ultrasound. It was in this that she moved across the country from Colorado to Connecticut. Dr. Gail Weingast currently is a radiology specialist at William W. Backus Hospital, in Norwich, Connecticut. Her position is that of the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging. She is proud to have gained the knowledge that she did in Colorado and enjoys the field and pace of Connecticut at William W. Backus Hospital.
