Gail Weingast Has Shown Herself to Be A Medical Leader

Obviously, medicine wasn’t Gail Weingast’s first calling, That came at some time after she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Tufts and she decided to earn a medical degree fromthe Boston University School of Medicine, where she officially became Gail Weingast MD in 1976. Dr. Weingast completed a two-year pediatrics internship and a three-year radiology residency at Colorado General Hospital in Denver, as well as a fellowship in the field of ultrasound. Dr. Gail Weingast completed her post-graduate studies as a radiologist from 1983 to 1984 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, also in Denver and she then went on to practice at several other Colorado and New York hospitals before landing at her current position at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut.

These days, Dr. Gail Weingast is considered to beat Backus among the top radiologists in the country. She has been at Backus for more than two decades and she is now their Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging. From there, she has worked hard to lead her radiology department into its current status as a premiere medical facility. In all, it has been her nearly four decades of education and experience that has given her a decided edge.
